The High Value Manufacturing Catapult (HVM Catapult) gives Welsh manufacturers a direct link into the UK’s world leading network of applied research centres, helping them adopt digital, automated and sustainable technology production at pace. As Director for South Wales, Jacqui Murray is building that bridge from a new digital factory hub in Baglan, working with Welsh Government, AMRC Cymru and the wider Catapult network to “help Welsh businesses adopt cutting edge technologies that will keep them productive and competitive”.

With a career that started in the steelworks at Llanwern and Port Talbot, and later leadership roles in the £600m+ Faraday Battery Challenge and National Manufacturing Institute Scotland, Jacqui brings deep industrial and innovation experience back to Wales. Her day-to-day focus is on ensuring manufacturers of every size can access new technologies – from automation and data analytics to advanced materials - alongside the expertise and partnerships to implement them.

HVM Catapult’s presence in Baglan is a long-term commitment to support high value, globally competitive manufacturing in South Wales. Under Jacqui’s leadership, the mission is clear: to use Catapult capabilities to drive productivity, successfully operationalising manufacturing technologies, helping decarbonisation and building industrial skills, creating a more resilient industrial base and new opportunities across Welsh supply chains.
