Make UK is the UK’s representative voice for manufacturing, supporting 20,000 companies of all sizes across engineering, technology and the wider industrial sector. In Wales, this work is led by Janis Richards, Regional Membership Director, who has spent over a decade supporting manufacturers across the country. She works closely with members to raise their profile and ensure their voices are heard at a regional and national level.

Janis advises SME manufacturers on practical challenges, from regulation and skills to exporting and net zero. She also brings businesses together through events and forums to share best practice, learn from experts and build connections. Alongside this, she works with regional stakeholders to ensure Welsh manufacturers are represented in Make UK’s wider advocacy and policy work.

For investors, Make UK’s presence in Wales reflects the strength and ambition of its manufacturing base. Through Janis and her network, businesses can quickly access peer support, expert insight and a community helping to drive innovation and growth across the sector.
