Welsh Government is supporting nine Welsh businesses across manufacturing, tech and education sectors in a virtual trade mission between January 25 and April 2, aimed at exchanging knowledge and strengthening trade relations between the two nations.

Ireland is one of Wales’ most important international trading partners. Thanks to its booming economy, proximity to the UK, similar legal system and familiar business culture, it’s at the top of the list for many businesses seeking new international opportunities.

Germany is a vitally important market for companies from Wales, including those in the buoyant life-sciences industry. In November 2019, a delegation of 31 Welsh firms will travel to Düsseldorf for MEDICA, the world’s largest trade event for the medical sector.

Malaysia and Singapore are key markets for Welsh exports. The October 2019 trade mission builds on the success of last year’s visit, which featured businesses from a wide range of sectors including food and drink, information and communications technology, advanced engineering and fintech.

Oman and Kuwait are long-standing trade partners with Wales, and further developing these relationships is a priority of the Welsh Government. As a testament to this, nine innovative Welsh companies elected to take part in the October 2019 trade mission to the two Gulf states.
