Wales Means Business

Showcasing Wales to the world. Making connections. Creating opportunities.

Canada is a fast-growing export market for Wales, with well-established trade links supported by historic and cultural ties at both local and national levels. In 2024, Canada ranked as Wales’ 11th largest export market, with goods valued at £328.8 million.

The relationship between Wales and Canada is underpinned by strong civic commitment. In 2020, a Declaration of Intent was signed between Wales and Québec to strengthen ties. This agreement commits both parties to collaborate on activities in the economy, innovation, culture, and education sectors, aiming to boost trade by improving market access, supply chains, and promoting initiatives that support business growth and investment opportunities.

This year, Welsh businesses are seeking to engage with potential partners and suppliers across a range of sectors, including life sciences, manufacturing, consumer goods, technology, and education.
