Welsh businesses take designs to international aircraft exhibition
Two companies from Wales that are global leaders in their specialised fields will be using an international event to showcase new products designed to significantly change passengers’ in-flight experiences.
Zodiac Aerospace, AIM Altitude and STG Aerospace will be exhibiting at the world’s leading event for airlines and the supply chain, the Aircraft Interiors Expo, which takes place 4-6 April 2017 in Hamburg Germany.
The Aircraft Interiors Expo is attended by representatives from all over the world wanting to source the latest innovations, technologies and products for the cabin interiors, inflight entertainment and passenger comfort industries.
The exhibition attracts thousands of buyers and decision makers from major scheduled, regional and charter airlines and offers the opportunity to meet face to face with suppliers and manufacturers covering the full spectrum of the industry.
Aircraft cabin lighting specialist, STG Aerospace, will be using the Expo to showcase next generation lighting solutions including, saf-Tglo® blu, the world's first ever blue-glowing photoluminescent emergency floor path marking system which is revolutionising how airlines accomplish emergency way-guidance. The company’s private 737 simulator will also demonstrate a new LED reading light, which is part of its liTeMood® range, a square light pattern which minimises the light spill onto neighbouring seats and helps give passengers a sense of control over their own environment.
STG Aerospace has a dedicated Innovation and Engineering Centre in Cwmbran, South Wales, which has created 36 jobs since it opened in 2015. Nigel Duncan, CEO of STG Aerospace, said: “STG Aerospace is a research-driven pioneer and emerging leader of simple, quality human-centric aircraft cabin lighting solutions. The company believes it is important to understand the total interaction of all light sources to provide an integrated lighting environment, one that delivers an enhanced passenger experience, increased customer loyalty, a strong airline brand identity and the optimisation of the cabin as a retail environment while still ensuring full compliance with all safety regulations.”
Lydie Blanqué, Marketing Manager for Zodiac Aerospace, said: “This is a strategic commercial event for Zodiac Aerospace where our latest innovations and new products will be displayed. Zodiac Seats will present new seats on economy class long range and business class.
