Wales has eight universities that are home to about 160,000 students.

The top universities in Wales are among some of the best in Europe, and they are commercially focused and research driven.

Welsh graduates are particularly strong in sectors such as energy, engineering, life sciences and financial services.

There are also 16 further education colleges, focused on the employability of their 200,000 students. These colleges already partner with businesses across Wales to develop the workforces required.

In Wales, as well as getting the people you want, there is a far greater chance of keeping hold of them. Staff retention is higher in Wales than the UK average.

Employers repeatedly say that the attitude and approach of the Welsh workforce is driven, loyal and hardworking.

Wales also has a proud tradition in the manufacturing industries. Some of the giants of the industrial and technology world, like Airbus, GE and Sony, have enjoyed long and fruitful relationships with Wales.
